You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the AVIATION SUPPORT DIVISION of FLTREADCEN WEST DET.

Duties

You will research supply catalogs, various technical manuals, and specific navy websites. You will conduct research for specialized requirements to determine appropriate coding. You will predict material requirements for consumable components to identify maintenance problems and to identify critical requirements. You will review, analyze and correct the Fixed Allowance Analysis Report (FAAR) and the Repairable Stock Requisition Status Report (RSRSR). You will provide technical information on substitutions, units, or elements needed for repair or modification. You will make recommendations on ordering next higher assembly when components are not available from the system. You will inspect equipment and material to determine identification, application, usage, and tolerances.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require you to lift or carry loads up to 25 pounds in weight.

Qualifications

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing supply systems to monitor and reconcile supply transactions and determine future material requirements in order resolve supply support problems. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

One academic year of graduate education (or law school, as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements) in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
