This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Immediate Office of the Secretary, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Technical Regulations Reviewer, you will use your knowledge of and experience with The Immediate Office of the Secretary to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Serving as a senior analyst, advising official contacts with the Federal Register.
Interpreting considerable volumes of documents and solves complex problems regarding regulations submissions.
Ensuring complex packages with conflicting or incomplete information are resolved and comply with Departmental rules and with publication criteria of the Federal Register before submission to the OS.
Ensuring that documents presented to the Secretary comply with Departmental and Federal Register requirements.
Developing changed pages or corrections to approved regulations and certifies that the final document presented to the Federal Register for publication is correct in terms of content and format.
Providing technical assistance on a day-to-day basis to all regulatory offices within the Department including answering inquiries from HHS senior leadership regarding the regulatory process, and the preparation and submittal of regulations to the Office of the Federal Register.

Minimum Qualifications:
For GS-12
You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
Coordinating regulatory documents and assisting with submission or publication.
Developing and writing memos, standard operating procedures, guidance documents or other materials relating to regulations.
Assisting with the development of system reports, summary documents or assessment plans.
For GS-13
You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
Analyzing and reviewing regulatory documents and providing technical advice for submission or publication.
Developing and writing memos, standard operating procedures, guidance documents or other materials relating to regulations.
Developing system reports, summary documents or assessment plans.
