This a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service Position.
This National Guard position is an Indefinite GS-0080-11 SECURITY SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5005000 and is part of the MO G2 Intelligence Directorate. This is a non-bargaining position.

Duties
Follows-up to ensure complete and quality resolution of discrepancies.
Assesses and revises policies and procedures to improve their quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Initiates and implements policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources.
Acts as resident expert on all SCI security matters.
Functions as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance.
Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of SCI protection and security.
Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational missions and security requirements.
Ensures SCIFs comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as delineated by higher headquarters.
Works directly for the intelligence unit commander/Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO), reporting on the administration of the Special Security Office and SCI-associated security programs.
Determines the need for, development of, and maintenance of current Memorandums of Agreement with organizations to ensure adherence to security standards.
Recommends or makes changes in unit security policy and directives, based on personal analysis of very general policy directives and objectives.
Manages and directs the activities and personnel of the unit Special Security Office.
Plans and supervises work accomplished by assigned subordinates.
Accepts, amends, or rejects work presented by subordinates.
Provides oversight of unit and SSO security self-inspections and presents detailed and comprehensive reports with corrective action taken to the unit intelligence commander/SIO.
Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- Position is subject to the provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
- Management has the right to convert this position to permanent status without re-advertising.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- The position is a technical position requiring expertise and daily use of the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS).
- In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the indefinite appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.
- Employment can be terminated with a 30 day notice.
- Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training that demonstrates your ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations and procedures; skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit; effective two-way radio or telephone communication; write English in reports and presentation formats; communicate orally and in writing clearly and effectively; assess body language and perceive immediate risk levels; and apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material.
GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS 09 grade level that provided the ability to implement a sensitive compartmented information security clearance program and maintain current and completed clearances for assigned personnel; manage, assess and conduct Special Security Office self-inspections and able to present detailed and comprehensive reports with follow-up work to ensure complete and quality discrepancies resolutions improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency; research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security; conduct intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to the organization's daily operations, training, and readiness missions; and implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources. The specialized experience must also indicate that you possess thorough knowledge of security principles, concepts and methodologies to evaluate state security procedures; knowledge of security procedures to perform inspections and risk vulnerability assessment analysis; knowledge of effective security programs to provide advice and assistance to units and organizations; and knowledge of physical security requirements and inspections to advise and train personnel; and experience in analyzing and evaluating reports of investigations and the maintenance of security records, files, reports and forms.
Must currently possess or able to maintain a TOP SECRECT security clearance.
Education
This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
