About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, Joint Personal Property Shipment Office-Mid Atlantic, Personal Property Management Division, located in Coronado, California or Jacksonville, Florida.
Duties
Advise military/civilian personnel regarding the shipment and/or receipt of personal property.
Determine entitlements for shipments/storage for military personnel, their dependents, and/or civilian employees.
Coordinate shipments ensuring efficient and/or economical transport of personal property.
Reviews documents related to shipping costs and/or methods.
Manages inbound shipments ensuring compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 6 years.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

To Qualify for the GS-05:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing information on the shipment and receipt of property; 2) Tracking package shipments; and 3) Determining the most economical rates for shipment and/or storage of items. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
To Qualify for the GS-06:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating the shipment of personal property; 2) Updating transportation records using automated systems ensuring completeness; and, 3) Estimating additional costs for shipments that are excess weight and/or distance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement GS-05: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
Time in Grade Requirement GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
