This position is located in Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP), Administrative Management Services (AMS) Section and will support in monitoring the activities and development status of Financial Institution Specialists (FIS), Financial Management Scholars (FMS) and Financial Institution Interns (FII) as they progress through their respective program.

Duties

Provides consistent support and developmental oversight to the Financial Management Scholars throughout their respective program by coordinating and participating in conferences and meetings on related matters which ensure participants are more mobile, adaptable, and possess a broad array of skills and abilities to support the Corporation in achieving its mission. Provides management with information and advice on a wide variety of management and administrative projects, issues, and initiatives; develops and recommends changes to administrative policies and procedures in order to improve program operations. Develops strong relationships with functional supervisors, labor and employee relations staff, and legal staff, and appropriately handles sensitive and confidential tasks while effectively monitoring program participant progress and developmental needs. Provides suggestions and recommendations based on knowledge of administrative processes to the Chief, AMS regarding approaches for personnel actions based on analysis of individual circumstances and in support of fair and consistent treatment of program participants. Analyzes and evaluates major administrative aspects of the Entry Level Examiner Hiring Program, with responsibility for supporting the developmental oversight in these high priority national level programs. Actively supports the acculturation of program participants through personal interactions and formal and informal presentations. Develops a variety of informational and training materials, and provides training and guidance to other class liaisons related to program structure, processes and best practices. Pro-actively provides quality recurring communication with the program participants regarding the program requirements, individual progress in meeting the requirements, and options for further development, as appropriate. Identifies existing or potential problem areas and recommends corrective action or preventive measures; monitors, coordinates, and consolidates program reporting.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as: Experience leading and coordinating projects, including establishing expectations, reviewing work products/services, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and feedback to team members. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
