You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the FACILITIES MAINTENANCE PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Duties
You will direct maintenance, repair and minor construction duties to address the sustainment needs of the assigned naval base.
You will work from blueprints, sketches and oral instructions given by the supervisor.
You will form a team composed of appropriate tradesmen to complete the work, orders and lays out material, plans and schedules each phase of the work, performs and reviews the performance of others in the completion of the project.
You will plan and schedule complex maintenance and repair projects.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You must be CPR certified.
- If incumbent will be required to enter confined spaces, training will be provided.
- The incumbent must be medically qualified to wear a respirator. Periodic hearing tests are required. Periodic vision tests are required.
- Successful completion of lockout/tagout training is required.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including 1) Working from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions given by the supervisor; 2) Operating power and hand tools and other woodworking equipment such as portable drills, clippers, joiners, shavers, tenoners, sanders, routers, combustion type saws, drill presses and table saws as well as standard plumbing tools and equipment 3 ) Inspecting roof surfaces to determine if repairs or if re-roofing is required, structural or finish issues to determine if carpentry is required; or inspecting plumbing systems and equipment to determine if repairs are required 4) Determining the kind and type of material and tools needed to complete the project and complete sketches or work orders without supervisory assistance.
