Serves as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist for the Service Area.
Duties
The incumbent serves as an Equal Employment Specialist on the Civil Rights Staff and is responsible for administering and implementing internal programs to ensure Civil Rights and EEO regulations and objectives are met, under the limited direction of a manager or more experienced professional. The employee is an advisor to managers, supervisors and employees within a region or service area on a full range of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs, applying experience and advanced knowledge of Federal EEO laws, regulations, departmental and Agency orders, management directives, executive orders, and court decisions. Typical assignments may include tracking and analyzing data to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; providing guidance to less-experienced professionals in day-to-day operations; identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions for complex/difficult problems; and recommending improvements to systems and processes.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the G band (FG/GS-11), you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the FV-F (FG/GS-10) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.Specialized Experience for the G band level include: Knowledge of Civil Rights Laws, regulations, executive orders and court decisions related to equal employment opportunity programs; Experience identifying barriers to employment, preparing compliance reviews and responses and managing Requests for Information (RFI’s); Participation in climate assessments in accordance with MD-715; Reviewing Reports of Investigations (ROI’s) and providing briefing to management.To qualify for this position at the H band (FG/GS-12), you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the FV-G (FG/GS-11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience for the H band include: Experience with identifying barriers to equal employment opportunities and making technical recommendations to aide in resolving concerns; Experience conducting studies, organizational reviews or workforce analyses to identify systematic equal employment problems; and/or Experience implementing EEO education programs for managers, supervisors, and employees to enhance their understanding of EEO and Diversity programs.To qualify for this position at the I band (FG/GS-13), you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level.
