This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Northwest Region, Branch of Tribal Government in Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA.

Duties
Performs a wide variety of administrative duties and serve as the point of contact for the Branch of Tribal Government in the coordination of meetings, schedules, conferences, hearings, and other key organizational activities.
Maintains automated office correspondence tracking systems. Provides input to and/or reviews all external/internal correspondence and documents to ensure that position, policies, and direction is accurately stated, and that all information is properly coordinated.
Receives and processes all incoming mail, faxes, and electronic mail by logging in, electronically scanning and filing, and tasking the staff to complete follow-on actions.
Assist with the coordination of meetings, conferences, special projects, and training classes. Makes travel arrangements, maintains office supplies and services, contacts vendors and coordinates repair of equipment.
Manages front desk and ensures all phone calls and visitors are received with courtesy and directed to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0303).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-07: I have at least 1 year of specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-6 in the Federal Service (obtained in the public or private sector). Specialized experience with preparing and reviewing correspondence; tracking correspondence through a software system, making travel arrangements and processing vouchers; arranging for conferences, meetings, and training sessions; ensuring that all requests for action or information are acted upon and due dates are met; assisting with budget and position paper activities; maintaining office filing systems, responding to general telephone inquiries and correspondence, preparing purchase orders and requisitions, and developing and utilizing software to log information and maintain a database, including mail merges.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
