Duties
Serves as an Internal Controls Analyst responsible for promoting best internal control practices and policies that ensure risk analyses performed are thorough, and accurate.
Advises DLA Aviation senior leaders on internal control issues and opportunities, process improvement, risk identification and assessment, and validation of corrective actions.
Assesses inherent risks in DLA Aviation mission essential processes, documents and designs internal controls (ICs), and tests the design and operating effectiveness of existing internal controls.
Performs in-depth analyses and review of DLA Aviation’s management controls and related program requirements to comply with DoD guidelines.
Collects, aggregates, and performs data analysis in support and completion of (see below):
Assessable Unit (AU) Identification Questionnaire, Annual AU Project Plan Workbook and Current State Assessment, Internal Control Evaluation Plans (ICEPs), and IC test results.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Management and Program Analyst (Internal Controls) your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Assisting with coordinating and monitoring numerous Internal Controls (IC) methods and controls and adjusting processes as necessary in order to achieve effective control methods.
Identifying risks throughout the organization and developing methods to correct and mitigate future occurrences of such risks.
Forecasting and evaluating financial risks while simultaneously developing procedures that minimize the impact.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
