This vacancy is for a GS-2005-7, Supply Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG HELICOPTER INTERDICTION TACTICAL SQUADRON JACKSONVILLE. Duty location will be determined upon selection.

Duties

You will serve as a/an Supply Technician and be responsible for ??providing technical supply support related duties and supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies and equipment. To include office automation systems and functions such as word processing, database management, spreadsheet generation and maintenance, and electronic mail (e-mail) software.

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Utilizing supply systems operations to complete records functions in inventory, storage, cataloging, and receipt and control processes; Conducting regular inventories of materials stocked; Initiating procurement requests to fill required inventory levels; Providing information to staff and vendors relative to the procurement, budget and inventory of materials. The ability to Operate a Forklift. Able to lift items up to 75 pounds. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
