About the Position: You will serve as the principal program and administrative support assistant for Real Estate Division.
Duties
Serve as timekeeper to review time and attendance records, and to resolve issues with the payroll representative.
Apply thorough knowledge of the organization mission, functions and services and of the administrative processes required to effectively conduct program operations.
Prepare and/or review all funding documents (e.g., purchase requests, contracts, work orders, travel orders and vouchers, credit card invoices) for appropriate cost code while tracking funds.
Receive visitors and telephone calls; respond to requests for information.
Use a variety of software programs (e.g., word processing, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, electronic mail), standard financial management and payroll systems, personnel systems, websites, internet/intranet, and agency and local applications.
At the GS-06 grade level, the duties are developmental in nature leading to the full performance level of GS-0303-07. The duties are described at the GS-07 level.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Minimum Qualifications for the GS-06:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience performing general office work which includes screening phone calls and correspondence; and creating or maintaining documents or files using automated system or software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Behavior, Management, or a related discipline to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience performing administrative support functions associated with budgeting, screening phone calls and correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Behavior, Management, or a related discipline to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
