This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Exercise supervisory responsibility over the execution of testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and overhaul of all equipment and systems within assigned section. Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and final adjustment of diverse electronic equipment and systems, sub-assemblies, assemblies, components, antenna systems and test equipment. Provide general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities, policies and expectations to assigned personnel. Determine the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of operations within the limits of broader authority over the work unit. Plan use of subordinate workers equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week, month-to-month, and quarterly basis. Assure that safety and housekeeping practices are observed. Investigate work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity, and determine causes. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Provide necessary leadership and direction to assigned personnel, to achieve optimal individual and team performance.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position may be for first shift but can be for multiple shifts.
• Business travel up to 25%.

Determining work sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments; observing tasks in progress and upon completion; and providing advice or instruction to employees on administrative matters. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below.
