This position is located in Field Operations Directorate, Office of Field Operations, Investor Program Office (IPO).
As an Special Assistant, you will perform a wide range of administrative and management duties to support senior leaders. These duties include providing recommendations, drafting communications, and creating projects that have a significant impact on IPO programs and employees.
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Manage sensitive and confidential special assignments of great personal interest and concern to the Operations Program Manager.
Direct special projects to include gathering data, analyses, and detailed reports concerning a variety of management processes.
Assist the Operations Program Manager and senior leaders with reviewing, maintaining, and updating applicable sections of administrative publications that outline policies, procedures, and processes.
Manage information for the Operations Program Manager and staff using existing and emerging Information Technology tools.
Oversee, manage, and coordinate cases and requests that must be routed for resolution or review.
Identify and propose solutions to management related issues for which previous studies and established techniques are frequently inadequate.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/24/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/24/2024.
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Analyzing and measuring progress of administrative or technical programs using qualitative and quantitative methods. Recommending improvements to deficiencies;
Responding to a variety of administrative actions using relevant laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the function of the agency or organization;
Leading a team or group through the implementation of new procedures, programs or policies;
Appropriately tailor written and oral communication to a wide variety of audiences.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Interpreting complex legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance to prepare recommendations for senior leadership;
Determining areas of procedural and regulatory deficiencies and providing guidance to senior leadership through the implementation of proposed change;
Utilizing data from analytical and evaluative research studies to make supported recommendations to senior leadership for the solution of a wide variety of administrative, operational, or programmatic problems;
Providing expert advice to leadership on mission, goals, objectives, and management programs.
