Duties
Examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation in compliance with establish procedures.
Utilize financial management system to update or verify information.
Maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data.
Comply and refer to governing regulations, policies and procedures for determining proper handling of financial transactions.
Use automated systems to digitally create, store, and relay information and/or data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance (Tier 3) or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position designated. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical or technician work in support of accounting, auditing, budgeting, or financial management functions. This experience involves verifying the accuracy and completeness of accounting data and using automated accounting/financial systems such as the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), Standard Accounting and Reporting System (STARS), Defense Travel System (DTS), and Standardized Document Automation (FASTDATA) to maintain accounting and financial transactions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as such as Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or other related field of study. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
