This vacancy is for a GS-1811-14, Supervisory Criminal Investigator located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CGIS OPERATIONS DIVISION Located in Washington, DC.

Duties

In this position you will serve as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Division Chief of Economic Crimes) conducting and supervising the conduct of complex and highly sensitive criminal investigations into matters involving felony violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) and violations of the United States Code (USC); internal affairs investigations into alleged misconduct by CGIS personnel; investigations into violations of federal laws and statutes under the maritime jurisdiction of the USCG; investigations into matters referred by the DHS, Office of Inspector General (OIG) to CGIS Headquarters; or matters within the jurisdiction of the Joint Task Force to which assigned. Qualifications

GS-14: To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, applicants must have 1 full year of specialized experience (equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal service) that demonstrates possession of specialized experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience on your resume must include: - Experience leading and/or conducting complex criminal investigations involving economic crimes (e.g. fraud, money laundering, embezzlement) or Fraud Investigations. - Coordinating and/or supervising interagency efforts to detect, investigate, and prosecute financial crimes. - Experience in leading or supervising the planning, coordination, and execution of all investigative operations. - Ability to manage a divisional budget and allocate resources efficiently. - Ability to effectively communicate with senior officials, subordinates, peers, agency leadership, and external partners. Quality Ranking Factor for this position: Candidates who Completed the Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA OR its equivalent will be ranked above those who do not. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
