This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance - Office of Financial Research. As a Conference and Event Planner, you will be the primary point of contact in OFR for conference, meeting, and event planning and execution and in collaboration with the Associate Director of Operational Support. Duties

As a Conference and Event Planner, you will: Be responsible for oversight, coordination, scheduling, and execution of conference, meeting, and event related activities to enable achievement of the OFR's mission, vision, goals, and objectives, in conjunction with the Department of Treasury Office of Conference, Events and Meeting Services (CEMS). Support the negotiation of contracts, in collaboration with the OFR procurement team and Departmental Offices contracting officers, with such service providers and suppliers as hotels, convention centers, and speakers, in collaboration with the OFR Operations Procurement team, as needed. Support may include providing input regarding OFR event planning budget information, identification of required services and support and statement of work and service level agreement (SLA) content. Serve as an official for the OFR Food Expenditure Policy, and use of funds from the Financial Research Fund (FRF), established by Section 155 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank), and other policies pertaining to purchasing food and non-alcoholic beverages (collectively, "food") in support of the OFR's mission.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:For the OR-51 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the OR-42 (GS-9 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Conducting research on and identifying service providers based on conference, meeting, and special event needs; AND Arranging event status meetings, tracking progress, providing updates to senior management and other responsible parties, and ensuring that event needs are met on time, within budget and in compliance with applicable policies/procedures; AND Performing advanced auditing and reconciliation of invoices and resolving problems with vendors when necessary to ensure compliance with contractual requirements; AND Planning and developing programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements. OR EDUCATION: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify with a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, your total qualifying experience is calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then, your education is calculated as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. The two percentages are added together.The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
