About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, Joint Personal Property Shipping Office, Mid-Atlantic Customer Service Management Division, located in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Schedule appointments, ensuring members have all required documents before their appointment.
Advise members on transportation entitlements, weight allowances, and shipping procedures.
Prepare shipping records, ensuring proper documentation for shipments.
Advise on special item shipments, calculate excess charges, and issue reimbursement forms.
Maintain transportation records using an automated system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Interpreting member's orders to advise on personal property shipping entitlements; 2) reviewing shipping documents for accuracy; 3) performing cost estimates to determine the best method of movement; AND, 4) hosting counseling sessions to inform customers on the process of shipping and/or storing personal property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
