You will serve as a AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC LEADER in the LOGISTICS SERVICES DIRECTORATE of MCAS CHERRY POINT.

Duties

You will pass on to other workers the instructions received from supervisors and assigns immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group. You will demonstrate proper work methods to subordinates. You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations applicable to the trade You will perform induction inspections to determine actual condition of equipment turner in for repair. You will check the work of subordinates to ensure productiveness and utilization.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Incumbent will lift and carry over 50 pounds without assistance.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to furnish the normal tools of the trade used on a day to day basis
  • This position requires certification to use refrigerant recycle machine to service air conditioners.
  • Yo will be required a certified crane operator for the operation of boom cranes in the performance of load testing.
  • This position requires call back and emergency overtime are regular requirements.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: Ability to lead/supervise others who perform common Transportation/Mobile Equipment Maintenance tasks including researching parts and maintenance manuals, service and technical bulletins, authorized modifications, electrical schematics, and flat-rate manuals.
