About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Provides customer service to commercial and military shippers on technical transportation requirements, booking processes, and Integrated Book System (IBS) requirements.
Advises and assists with information, interprets technical transportation rules, regulations, and contracts which affect the cost and efficiency of administering the traffic management programs.
Provides technical advisory assistance on traffic and transportation facilities, on equipment availability and on operational practices and traffic patterns pertaining to freight which moves through the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Works with Traffic Manager or Installation Transportation Officer (ITO) to provide technical advice, continuity of policy, and effective day-to-day working relationships.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
