Duties

You will assess and recommend protective network and physical security devices and systems for acquisition. You will conduct security audits and inspections and provides audit/inspection results to the Security Control Assessor Representative for compliance reporting. You will report computer security incidents if the information system has been compromised.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Occasional travel is required up to 10%, which may involve the use of commercial and/or government aircraft.

  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekend, and/or holidays due to unplanned operations or unique situations.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722, proficiency level ADVANCED the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies

Qualifications

You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include Assessing the security posture of classified and unclassified information systems through the use of a variety of automated tools. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include Advising on the physical security requirements for information systems. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include Providing technical direction to a staff of military, civilian, and contractor personnel. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include Interpreting and implementing cybersecurity policies from higher headquarters to determine the impact and appropriate response. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you are required to have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Performing assessment of systems and networks within command network enclaves and identify where those systems and/or networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave, or local policy. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-2210-12. Education

At a minimum, all CES employees in the Professional Work Category require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Some groups in this category, however, may have a positive education requirement that cannot be replaced with experience, such as a requirement for a particular type or level of an academic degree.
