This position starts at a salary of $98,496.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $128,043.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $128,043 (GS-13 Step 10). In this Lead Information Technology Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals providing support and guidance on Information Technology systems and services. Typical work assignments include: Communicating to the team assignments, projects, actionable events and program issues under review with timeframes for completion; Providing technical guidance to and coaching a team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques; Identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; Monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work; and Diagnosing and resolving difficult customer-reported incidents and problematic trends to improve operational capability.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. You qualify for this position if you meet the basic requirement listed above and possess one year of specialized experience as described below. Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Supporting Information Technology systems and services by developing new methods, approaches and procedures Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents involving different platforms, operating systems, applications and desktop configurations Researching, evaluating, and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns Planning, designing, developing and integrating network systems consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining customer hardware and software NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
