The selectee of this position serves as a Property Management Specialist responsible for the management of assets seized and forfeited under the Asset Forfeiture Program.. This position is located in the Asset Forfeiture Division.

Duties

As a Property Management Specialist at the GS-1101-9/11 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing technical advice, guidance, and assistance on the appraisal, transportation, storage, repair, maintenance, management, and disposal of seized and forfeited assets. Assisting with seizures; preparing seizure packages, and taking custody of assets. Conducting audits of the Asset Forfeiture case files in order to ensure compliance with USMS and Department of Justice (DOJ) policies and procedures. Ensuring the financial management functions associate with the Asset Forfeiture program are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
  • Status Candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

Qualifications

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion and Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Status applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. One year at the GS-7 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-9 grade level. One year at the GS-9 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, you must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Assisting staff with conducting property inventory; Applying property seizure, storage, or disposal policies or procedures when completing work; and Informing management of property management findings, issues, or problems. OR Education: Possess two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree or Master's or equivalent graduate degree in business, operations management, or other directly related field. NOTE: You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts. OR Combination: Combination of the above described education and specialized experience such that they total 100% when combined. To determine your combination, first compute your experience as a percentage of the experience listed above; then determine your education as a percentage of the education listed above; then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent. (Note: Only graduate level education beyond the first year or 18 semester hours may be combined with specialized experience. You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts.) To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must meet one the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Conducting property inventory; Recommending solutions to issues with property seizure, storage, or disposal policies and procedures; Assisting with audits of property management records or financial accounts; and Utilizing an electronic tracking system to track data. OR Education: Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in business, operations management, or other directly related field. Note: You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts. OR Combination: Combination of the above described education and specialized experience such that they total 100% when combined. To determine your combination, first compute your experience as a percentage of the experience listed above; then determine your education as a percentage of the education listed above; then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent. (Note: Only graduate level education in excess of two years (36 semester hours) may be combined with specialized experience. You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts.) When citing your education and/or experience, be clear and specific. We cannot make assumptions about your education and/or experience. If your transcripts and/or resume do not support your application questionnaire answers, we will not allow credit for your response(s).
