About the Position: This position is located at U.S.ASC, 407th AFSB, LRC, Services & Supply Division, Ammunition Supply Branch, Fort Sam Houston, Tx.
Duties
Monitor and review the receipt, storage and issue of ammunition, explosives, missiles/rockets and residue.
Resolve inventory problems requiring extensive inventories and location surveys and inventory problems requiring extensive and exhaustive research of receipts, issues, turn-ins, surveys, transfers and other available sources.
Maintain stock record accountability of ammunition utilizing three automated systems such as the Standard A accountability of ammunition.
Responsible for quality control of document flow (e.g., issues, turn-ins, transfers, etc.,) originating from Customer Service through the various ASP units in order to maintain an accurate and up-to-date stock record account of each transaction.
Monitor data input in the Stock Record Unit and reviews for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Maintains document register/status report and editing documents for request for issue/turn-in.
Provide technical ammunition supply advice to support units.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R or DA Form 7412, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Performs duties which involve the control, accountability and shipment of arms, ammunition and explosives (AAE). Incumbent must maintain AAE Security Certification/Screening IAW AR 190-11.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid government vehicle operator's permit.
- Position requires a valid, State-issued motor vehicle driver's license that is not suspended or revoked.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certifications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes handling and moving ammunition, maintaining accountability of stock records and ammunition automated systems, physical security of small arms and ammunition, preparing and maintains records and reports utilized by the Ammunition Supply Point in support of ammunition operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
