About the Position: You will serve as the Transportation Division Chief for the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) at a complex multi-mission installation, responsible for all LRC Planning, Programming and Policy to enable synchronizing the full range of installation transportation logistics operations and services.
Duties
Serve as the Transportation Division Chief for the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC).
Serve as the transportation advisor and subject matter expert.
Monitor performance of work centers for overall effectiveness.
Coordinate and synchronize logistics support.
Plan short and long term operational support and set operational priorities.
Develop personnel and equipment requirements based on mission.
Project budgeting and execution requirements for the Division.
Perform supervisory duties such as assigning work to employees and developing performance standards to evaluate employees' performance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- In a 'Key" position, you must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster), you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain appropriate valid state and/or government driver’s license.
- Due to the nature of this position, you are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- You may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless you have previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary, you can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) directing and/or managing transportation operations/services; (2) evaluating transportation activities to enhance or improve transportation operations/services; (3) developing long-range transportation logistics plans to include budgetary and/or personnel requirements; (4) Solving/resolving transportation logistics operations/services problems; and (4) Leading personnel and/or projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12).
