This position is located in the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (OEEO) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The Special Assistant to the Director, OEEO, serves as the principal assistant and advisor to the Director on a wide variety of highly complex and sensitive administrative and corporate-wide matters.

Duties
Serves as the principal assistant and advisor to the Director on a wide variety of highly complex and sensitive administrative and corporate-wide matters.
Assists in developing long-range plans and objectives for the OPC, that also have corporate-wide impact.
Develops, plans and carries out comprehensive analyses of Office management programs.
Collects, analyzes, and evaluates complex qualitative and quantitative data, and presents evaluations and recommendations to the Director for consideration.
Analyzes the effects and ramifications of new proposals, policies, procedures, and legislation concerning the programs and operations of the OPC.
Researches issues relating to a wide range of administrative programs and prepares reports or responses to inquiries for the Director’s signature.
Prepares briefings for the Director in addressing employee groups, management meetings, and conferences. Coordinates briefing materials with various Directors and other FDIC senior managers and their staffs.
Assists the Director in the writing and editing of documents, including policy documents and directives.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-15 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience researching and analyzing administrative initiatives to recommend improvements to achieve organizational goals; managing priorities to ensure timely completion of projects and efficiency of operations; and preparing briefings, memos, or reports for executive meetings with stakeholders within and outside of the organization.
