This position is located in the Library and Visitor Center (DKSL), Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement (DKS), Communications (DK), Workforce and Strategy Office (D), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Department of Energy (DOE).
The purpose of the position is to serve as a librarian for BPA's Library and Visitor Center which is a Federal Depository Library.

- This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
A. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree;
- OR -
B. A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-11, in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience is defined as: 1) Providing oversight on the daily operations of a library and its visitor center; 2) Administering a library's digital asset management system (i.e., search and retrieval system, etc.); and 3) Providing guidance and assistance to internal and external stakeholders in identifying information resources, locating requested materials, and gathering and compiling materials to meet user needs.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
