This position is located with the Law Enforcement and Investigations Unit in Washington Operations.
This position provides administrative and management support for the Law Enforcement and Investigations Senior Executive by independently planning, performing, and coordinating all functions necessary for efficient operation.

Duties
Plans, coordinates, analyzes, and evaluates administrative missions and operations.
Performs a range of analytical studies and projects related to program operations in the areas of management and productivity improvement; management controls; and work planning.
Plans, administers, oversees, and coordinates administrative services including budget, procurement and contract administration, travel, property and records management, FOIA request, litigation hold requests related to the Executive’s office.
Provides recommendations on the most economical methods of achieving administrative goals and objectives.
Provides support to the Leadership Team and other special committees and task forces.
Provides analysis related to any phase of Forest Service policies, relationships or activities requiring the special attention of the Executive.
Develops and maintains close liaison with Regional Foresters, Deputy Regional Foresters, consultants, Forest Supervisors, and other key staff across the Agency.
Responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that are performed in support of the Executive.

Requirements

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-11: You must have one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: Managed, planned, organized, directed, and/or coordinated administrative office activities; and/or wrote, prepared, and evaluated formal and informal correspondence documents for senior level officials; and/or coordinated routine administrative projects; and/or provided technical advice on matters pertaining to procedure.
OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or
LL.M., if related.
OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and graduate level education (beyond what is required for a master's degree, i.e., more than 36 semester hours leading to a Ph.D.).
For the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: Wrote, prepared, and evaluated formal and informal correspondence (which may be confidential), reports, statistics, and analytical documents for senior level officials; and/or coordinated a variety of administrative projects; and/or provided expert analytical and technical advice and made recommendations on matters pertaining to organizational processes, procedures, and policies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
