Duties
You will serve as a guard on rotating patrols and posts at the NWC enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, or property.
You will control personnel access and admittance, making sure employees, visitors and contractors are properly cleared and possess proper security badges.
You will patrol the perimeter and interior of the NWC on foot. Protects property, materials, equipment and information from danger of terrorism, sabotage, espionage, intrusion and criminal acts.
You will notify emergency personnel as needed when issues arise according to Standard Operating Procedures. Relay messages and dispatches personnel
and equipment to meet routine and emergency situations.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification; 2) Patrolling buildings or perimeters for suspicious activity; and 3) Enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, and property.
