This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO - Management and Budget. As a Supervisory Travel Specialist, you will serve in the Office of Financial Management for all of Departmental Offices; advising and providing recommendations to high-level officials regarding travel regulations as they prepare for travel to domestic and or international localities with high political implications.
Duties
As a Supervisory Travel Specialist, you will:
Conducts and coordinates projects and the preparation of reports and findings on matters pertaining to domestic and or international travel programs.
Advises travelers on proper procedures for completing travel authorizations, travel vouchers for expense reimbursement and similar documents.
Maintains clear and accurate records on all official trips. Follows up with traveler after trip to ensure all vouchers are submitted in a timely manner. Additionally, incumbent must have good written and verbal communication skills and will be called upon to explain and interpret policies and regulations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-14: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
- Experience preparing travel authorizations and vouchers and advising officials, program offices, and office travelers of policies, regulations, and relocation procedures; AND
- Experience resolving technical and functional problems in travel automated systems while serving as a liaison between users, senior leaders, and operations staff; AND
- Experience preparing duty orders domestically and internationally including obtaining diplomatic passports/visas.
TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
