NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.
Duties
Develop, organize, and support in-person outreach to communities and institutions that have been historically underfunded, thereby increasing the reach and impact of NEH's programs.
Promote the work and programs of the NEH with external constituencies through video presentations, social media, and other appropriate means.
Develop outreach information, tools, and resources for internal audiences on the Outreach Hub.
Working with the Office of Communications and the Office of Grant Management, develop outreach tools and resources for external audiences for the NEH website.
Promote NEH's peer review system, expanding and diversifying the pool of peer reviewers for NEH programs.
Identify best practices and lessons learned directly linked to outreach activities and contribute to evaluation and assessment efforts.
Listen to the needs of external constituents and identify how to best address those needs within federal grant-making apparatus.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
At the GS-9 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level or equivalent experience.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: experience assisting with grant program promotion or administration; maintaining data through automated systems; applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques; ensuring compliance with policy, terms and conditions.
At the GS-11 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level or equivalent experience.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: experience conducting grant program promotion and assisting with grant program administration; maintaining data through automated systems; applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques; identifying administrative problems and recommending possible solutions; ensuring compliance with policy, terms and conditions.

Education
All applicants must have obtained a qualifying associates, bachelors, master's, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years unless military service interfered with a veteran's eligibility to apply during that two-year time frame. Veterans meeting the above exclusion may apply within 2 years of discharge or 6 years from the date of receipt of the degree whichever comes first.

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order to receive credit towards qualifications. Students who have graduated from an accredited college must submit unofficial or official transcripts at the time of application. At the time of selection, the transcript confirming the date that the degree was conferred must be provided. You must have graduated by May 2024 or projected to graduate by December of 2024 to be eligible for selection.
