Duties
As a SUPERVISORY TRAINING AND READINESS PROGRAM SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Plans, designs, organizes, directs and oversees the basic missions of the branch and integrates mission training support to USTRANSCOM, its components and subordinate commands, and other supported Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and agencies/organizations.
Chairs the Command's Joint Training Program Working Group (JTPWG), comprised of staff, component, and subordinate command training representatives that review and resolve issues related to each phase of the Joint Training System.
Advises leadership and represents USTRANSCOM in matters related to joint training and education.
Routinely interacts with executive-level customers and key coordinating officials to assess requirements, explain organization training policy and procedures and resolve significant problems that arise.
Requirements
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or
commercial aircraft.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include
evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Supervising, advising and providing counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Developing, studying, coordinating, and implementing training policies, procedures, instructions, and guidelines within the Joint Training System to meet command mission objectives.
Providing functional and technical advice and expertise to joint training-related boards, bureaus, centers, cells, and working groups.
Advising executive-level personnel as the subject matter expert (SME) on the four-phased Joint Training System.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
