You will serve as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic in the FS BRANCH FAC SUPP COMBINED TRADES, PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will diagnose, locate and repair malfunctions to the main operating mechanical components of large, complex heating, ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC). You will lubricate moving parts and replaces air filters, v belts, electrical motors, pulleys, sheaves, bearings, fan shafts, etc. You will conduct visual and audible examination of equipment components by applying prescribed test procedures and equipment, and by explorations of probable reasons for equipment failure. You will perform maintenance, calibration, modification, installation, repair and replacement of analog and direct digital controls (DDC) systems and equipment. You will interpret complex multi-view drawings, sketches, manufacture’s specification etc. You will test for refrigerant leaks and uses a refrigerant recovery/ recycling station, to Environmental Protection Agency standards to safely reclaim, recycle and store the refrigerant before repairs can be made.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Must have a current Journeyman license and obtain a Masters license in 24 months.
• Must be able to become CPR certified.
