The Disclosure Management Office (DMO) within the Division of Corporation Finance (CF) provides mission-critical support to CF and CF's Disclosure Review Program (DRP). These responsibilities include facilitating CF's integration of final rules into operations, assisting Disclosure Program leadership with updating policies and procedures central to CF's Disclosure Review Program, and supporting a wide range of responsibilities that support the Disclosure Review Program.

Typical duties would include:
Serving as counsel to the DMO Office Chief and, as needed, CF senior staff.
Coordinating, and in many instances, leading the comprehensive review and update of DRP's internal staff guidance and related materials, which may include conducting reviews of disclosure and reporting requirements, performing reviews of statutes, rules, and regulations, and rendering legal analysis and recommendations.
Analyzing the impact of final rules on DRP operations, internal guidance, and EDGAR and supporting efforts to integrate the rules into CF's internal processes, policies, and systems, which may include providing legal advice during the development of new review guidance or EDGAR functional requirements and helping resolve novel and/or complex legal and implementation matters.
Serving as counsel on DRP initiatives and any change management associated with those initiatives. This may include support of DMO initiatives and initiatives led by CF's senior staff and/or other Division organizations.
Serving as a subject matter expert on federal securities laws that apply to requests to correct filing errors, including, for example, requests to delete filings or adjust filing dates.
Analyzing and resolving novel and complex matters related to CF's dissemination of review materials.
Requirements

- You must possess a J.D. or LL.B Degree and You must be an active member of the bar in good standing.
- This position is open to Current permanent SEC employees in the excepted service (i.e., attorney candidates) within the Division of Corporation Finance

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
BASIC REQUIREMENT: All applicants must possess the following
J.D. or LL.B. degree --AND--
Active membership of the bar in good standing in any state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. (Note: proof of bar membership will be required before entry on duty.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement.
SK-14: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level. Specialized experience includes:
(1) Providing legal advice regarding the application of the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the rules and regulations thereunder; and
(2) Providing recommendations to resolve disclosure reporting issues.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
