As an FBI Intelligence Analyst (IA), you will lead analysis of criminal and national security threats to the U.S. that helps the FBI, and partners identify threats and inform decision-making. You will apply analytic tradecraft to analyze information derived from our unique blend of law enforcement and intelligence authorities. You will work with special agents, other FBI and IC colleagues, and partners to identify threat priorities, collection strategies, and disruption opportunities.
Duties
Review FBI communications to identify and evaluate the intelligence information therein.
Prepare and disseminate intelligence information while protecting sources and investigations through correct document classification and controls.
Communicate with FBI field offices, legal Attaches (Legats), analysts, and members of the Intelligence Community (IC), policy, and law enforcement communities to gain a better understanding of sources, operations, missions, and requirements.
Assist in the preparation of collection instructions, guides, and manuals for FBI entities and interact with outside entities to facilitate their initiatives.
Analysis to include collation of raw, primary, and secondary data derived from various sources such as automated data base systems, operational intelligence reports, miscellaneous communications, case files, internal and external automation systems, and other sources.
Prepares parts of more complex studies or reports that include aspects related to their specifically-defined geographic or functional area.
May participate in interagency committees and meetings as representatives of the organization or functional area.
Evaluates incoming reports and information and performs interpretations and projections under the guidance of senior analysts.
Prepares basic descriptive and current reportorial intelligence reports to higher-level analysts and superiors in their assigned area of responsibility.
Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, executive orders, and directives promulgated by the Congress, Attorney General, the Director of the FBI, and the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to achieve goals and objectives.
Qualifications
GS 11: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS11 grade level. SE is as follows:
Conduct analytical reviews of data to identify patterns.
Analyze information and make decisions regarding its value and worth to a case.
Provide briefings, intelligence reports, and/or recommendations to management or higher-level staff.
GS 12: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS-12 grade level. SE is as follows:
Guide investigative, programmatic, and policy decisions by the intelligence, policy, and law enforcement communities.
Manage the collection and dissemination of intelligence information from investigations, sources and contacts to the intelligence, policy, and law enforcement communities.
Perform liaison duties with other US and foreign government agencies on a wide variety of topics.
GS 13: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS-13 grade level. SE is as follows:
Interpretation of investigative information and extrapolating data for the collection, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination to the appropriate officials of the IC, law enforcement agencies, and other government entities.
Review information/data, determine the significance, and validate its accuracy and reliability.
Use of various analytical techniques and devises immediate and projected estimations for those characteristics of each situation that may affect capabilities and/or specific events.

OR
National Security: International relations/foreign affairs, international migration, world religions, homeland security, international law, international finance, SIGINT or offensive technological collection operations, or subject and source targeting.
OR
Hard Sciences: Engineering, chemical, biological/agriculture, physics, physical science, biometrics, biomedical, or forensic science. Experience and familiarization with artificial intelligence, quantum information sciences, immersive technologies, vehicle telematics, energy infrastructure, microelectronics, and wireless technology.
OR
Other: Accounting/economics, geospatial/mapping, open-source intelligence, journalism, electrical or psychology/sociology. Degree of study in the following areas: Central Asia, China, Korea, the Middle East, African/Arabian Peninsula, Eurasia, Cuba, or Latin America.
Education
Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
