THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This ND National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2573000 and is part of the ND 119 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, National Guard.
Duties
As an Ordnance Equipment Mechanic, the purpose of this position is to provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings.
Manages allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisitions, and disposition of munitions.
Assembles/Disassembles, adjusts configuration, performs maintenance/tests & repairs, handles and transports ammunition, decoys, countermeasures to include LUU series flares and dispensers, rocket, unguided and guided weapons and countermeasures, demolition material, and other types of conventional ordnance such as 40MM, Cluster Bomb Units (CBU), Guided Bomb Units (GBU), general purpose bombs, aircraft canon ammunition, missile systems, for loading on aircraft based on Unit Committed Munitions List (UCML) and Wings training requirements.
Coordinates with various sections to ensure the effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources.
Complies with safety and security requirements.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the ND National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the ND National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess18 months of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies; 2) Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components; 3) Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment; and 4) Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.
