THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D2571000 and is part of the ND 119 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, National Guard.

Duties

As an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, the purpose of this position is to serve as the Chief of Munitions in a munitions flight or squadron. Planning. Plans the overall allocation of personnel, funding, facilities, and equipment resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, complexity, operational tempo, and total force integration must be planned on an annual or multi-year basis. Assigning and Directing Work. Administration. Recommends promotion or reassignment of the workforce, and reviews personnel actions. Safety and Security.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the ND National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the ND National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. MAX MILITARY GRADES: SMSgt COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 2W091 AFSC is not a disqualifying factor of eligibility; however, selected applicant must obtain the compatible AFSC. Retraining into this career field is restricted to the ranks of E-7 and below with less than 15 years of total federal military service QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, applicant must possess the required 36 months of specialized experience, which includes 1.) Ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel, 2.) Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines, 3.) Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function, 4.) Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes, and 5.) Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire.
