You will serve as a CONTRACT SUPPORT SPEC (SMALL BUSINESS) in the OFFICE OF SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAMS.

Duties

You will develop and implement acquisition strategies that meet agency needs while optimizing resources. You will review budget requests for technical accuracy, validity and regulatory conformance as appropriate. You will set performance standards and establish viable metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency in accordance with the program requirements. You will perform timely reviews to assess and oversee the execution of the program while adhering to established standards and program objectives and report on the status of procurement and contract management. You will work closely with program managers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to align contracting efforts with program objectives, address performance issues, and work collaboratively to resolve disputes. You will develop recommendation for and provide technical expertise and expert advice to the Director and Deputy.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience working with government contracts. Experience reading and interpreting DoD regulations and laws governing security cooperation.
