You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Property Warehouse, Materials Branch, at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA
Duties
You will perform the full range of material handling and warehousing functions.
You will ship, receive, store, segregate, and inventory materials.
You will read and interpret shipping documents and other documentation used to move, store, and track materials.
You will operate motor vehicles and Material Handling Equipment to include forklifts.
You will work with automated supply and/or inventory systems.
You will use measuring and hand tools such as rulers, hammers, and nail pullers.
You will read Material Safety Data Sheets and handle Hazardous Materials.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current state issued drivers license within the time frames prescribed by the Command.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current government license for all assigned equipment within the time frames prescribed by the Command.
- You will lift and carry weights up to 45 pounds.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
- You must complete all assigned training
- You must be able to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors
- This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to perform the work of a Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience, working under close supervision receiving and/or issuing, handling, storing supplies, equipment, and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies; reading shipping documents; complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures; operating motor vehicles and materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks; reading and understanding a warehouse or storage plan.
