This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)
This position is part of the Human Resource Office, District of Columbia National Guard under Position Description Number NGT5741100.

Duties
This position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS) unit. The incumbent will administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, trains personnel in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
Duties
Provides advisory support services as they pertain to assigned programs or activities. Structures assignments to create effective and economical positions. Coordinates with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Reviews organization mission, functions, and manning.
Provides guidance to clients as task due dates change or as roles and responsibilities are altered or updated. Prepares tasking status reports and workload analysis. Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals to perform a wide variety of administrative tasks.
Participates in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals.
Ensures publications library, filing system, and reprographic requirements are established and maintained. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring all unit reports are submitted.

Requirements
- The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration which will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
- Superior Qualifications or Special Needs Pay Setting Must be requested through the selecting official and must be coordinated prior to acceptance of official offer.
- 3R Incentive MAY be authorized.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE is experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled.
Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.
Education
There are no specific educational requirements for this position. However, substitution of Education for Specialized Experience is allowed.
