This position is located in Field Operations Directorate, Division 1.
As an Immigration Officer, you will provide guidance, conduct research for the purpose of enhancing current policies and procedures, and identify, articulate, and pursue suspected immigration benefit fraud, national security concerns, and public safety threats.
Duties
Serves as senior staff officer responsible for conducting research, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and independently preparing written work products. Serves as advisor to leadership on planning, managing, and directing activities.
Utilize the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) that require strict requirements and directives regarding order assess and review aggregated classified intelligence information for national security and public safety concerns.
Analyze, develop and draft policies, procedures and guidelines required to accomplish directorate program goals.
Perform as USCIS technical expert, and liaise and collaborates with a variety of entities within and outside the DHS.
Serve as a technical specialist responsible for problem assessments, perform studies and investigational research, and evaluate classified and sensitive information.
Provides advice and guidance to agency managers on matters related to FDNS operations ,policies, procedures and other requirements.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/16/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/16/2024.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Serving as an expert in analyzing the impact of cumulative classified and sensitive information and current immigration rule, policy or operational requirements on immigration benefit programs.
Independently identifying, articulating, and conducting administrative investigations related to immigration benefit fraud, public safety concerns, and national security concerns.
Serving as liaison to internal and external stakeholders including management and law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Serving as an authority on the interpretation of policy for immigration programs with classified national security and public safety concerns.
Developing tools and methodologies to collect and analyze data to identify trends and vulnerabilities and make recommendations to address vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the immigration system.
