The mission of the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) is to ensure the security of retirement, health and other workplace related benefits of American workers and their families. Each office initiates, executes, and coordinates civil/criminal investigations of alleged violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and conducts investigations of all types of employee benefit plans.
This position is outside the bargaining unit.

Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Requires a supervisory probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Subject to financial disclosure requirements.
- Valid Driver's license preferred but not required.
Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for the Supervisory Employee Benefits Investigator position, as described below.
For GS-1801-15: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-14, in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience analyzing legal issues involving laws such as Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA) and other similar health laws, polices and regulations; applying civil and criminal investigative techniques; and providing technical guidance, reviewing, and evaluating ERISA covered retirement and health plans and a variety of other service provider products and vehicles.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-15 level for this position.
