Duties
The Duty location is:
Fort Vancouver National Historic Site
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds.
Perform minor plumbing repairs of limited difficulty such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures.
Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters. Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed.
Receive, unload and process incoming shipments according to established procedures, and report discrepancies and damage to others responsible for such items.
May perform other duties such as painting equipment, masonry work, roofing, welding or assisting higher grade worker with maintenance of utility systems in the facility.
Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by 11:59 EST or when the 'applicant cut-off' is reached (which may be sooner than 12/17/2024).
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair etc.
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic).
Use of Measuring Equipment.
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading).
Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment.
Knowledge of Materials.
