NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.

Duties

Supporting donor acquisition, engagement, and retention with a range of actors, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private foundations, and corporations to increase the reach and impact of NEH's programs; Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting large gifts from major donors, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private foundations, and corporations; Supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive advancement strategy (inclusive of donor acquisition, engagement, and retention plans); Identifying best practices and lessons learned directly linked to fundraising activities and contribute to early monitoring and evaluation efforts; Communicating and tracking the agency's donor engagement, working with the Office of Communications on opportunities for donor acknowledgment; Assisting in building and updating internal processes and tools for donor acquisition, engagement and retention; Creating and maintaining donor database in the agency CRM system.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. At the GS-13 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: experience implementing donor acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies; managing a portfolio of mid-level to high-value donors; and contributing to major gift or planned giving programs; cultivating donor relationships, aligning donor priorities with organizational goals, and using CRM systems to track engagement and evaluate fundraising outcomes; coordinating with internal teams, drafting donor-facing communications, and representing the organization in outreach efforts; familiarity with nonprofit fundraising practices, legal and ethical standards, and the ability to analyze trends and improve processes.
