Duty Location: Folsom, California
Duties
Serves as the principal advisor and consultant to area office senior leadership on various administrative matters.
Analyzes priorities and identifies action items to assist supervisors in developing strategies pertaining to evolving workload management activities.
Advises on changes to organizational structures, work processes and procedures, staff utilization, and quality control systems.
Prepares, administers, consolidates information in support of knowledge management requirements and trains personnel on system utilization and information sharing practices.
Coordinates and manages administrative support functions pertaining to human resources, property management, and fiscal operations.
Performs other duties as assigned within this classification.
Qualifications
To be rated as qualified for this position, the HR office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirements. This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-12 grade level:
At least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is comparable in scope and complexity to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal civil service. Specialized experience must be clearly demonstrated in your resume. Examples of qualifying experience: Serving as a business office manager or administrative liaison responsible for planning, directing and/or facilitating an organization's administrative services; providing guidance on human resources issues and preparing supporting documents for use in hiring efforts; leading, guiding or mentoring clerical personnel that support two or more business function areas; planning, organizing and/or prioritizing team workload assignments to meet related objectives; evaluating the effectiveness of administrative policies or procedures in guiding the operations and decision-making processes within an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal civil service (GS-11).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
