Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Duties
Assist the Safety Manager in the review of site and construction plans to assure compliance agency standards in the government proportional review of equipment and facilities prior to start-up of a new construction or new equipment.
Interfaces with host emergency services, serves as the liaison for custodial and ground maintenance contractors.
Assists and implements a preventative maintenance schedule, balancing workload among subordinate workforce and contractors, setting priorities and resolving differences concerning program operations and administration.
Resolves issues by coordinating directly with installation, mission, and staff agencies.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07 for GS-09 level; GS-09 for GS-11 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience for a GS-09 is defined as: assisting in the planning, organizing, and evaluation of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive safety programs; implementing local safety and occupational health policies; and investigating and documenting accidents and mishaps.
Specialized Experience for a GS-11 is defined as: Apply recognized safety, environmental, and health principles, standards, laws and techniques to assist in the management and evaluation of a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive safety program; provide technical advice and guidance to management and employees on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive safety; assist in the development of standards, regulations, practices and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards.

Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
GS-09 Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement
GS-11 Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement
