Duties

This position is in the Office of Energy Policy and Innovation's (OEPI) Division of Energy Market Assessments (DEMA). OEPI coordinates the development of policies and rules that address emerging challenges in the electric and natural gas industries. DEMA analyzes, and reports on the structure and operation of the electric and natural gas markets and provides information to the Commission and the public on significant market events and trends.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • You must provide your SF-50 (see Required Documents section).
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • A background investigation is required.
  • This is excluded from the bargaining unit.
  • Generally, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid.
  • You may be required to divest certain energy-related securities.

Qualifications

You must have one full year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as: Extensive experience as an authoritative technical subject-matter expert, which includes experience as a coach, reviewer, and team leader on complex market design issues, policy issues, and competitive issues which have a major impact on the natural gas or electric industry markets or gas-electric coordination. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
