This position is located in Interior Region 2, in the Interpretation, Education, and Community Partnership Division. This is a term position with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 12/18/2024 whichever comes first. Duties

Plans, develops, organizes and creates informational and interpretive media content for park offices and divisions. Collaborates with subject matter experts in parks, regions, networks and with partners to maintain and develop web and social media. Designs and coordinates projects using specialized graphic design software. Conducts research on a variety of park related themes in order to develop interpretive stories told through visual information interpretive and educational projects. Coordinates and completes visual information assignments.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess at least one or all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means. Examples of specialized experience includes, but is not limited to: planning, researching, and creating interpretive and education media, including exhibits, publications, audiovisuals, and digital products; or developing and communicating stories and messages using a combined written and graphic approach. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Education must be in a field of major study that is directly related to the work of the position. Major study: commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled.
