You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FLIGHT CLEARANCE CHIEF in the Flight Clearance Branch, Airfield Operations Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.
Duties
You will Serve as the Flight Clearance Chief, responsible for all airfield management responsibilities of MCAS Yuma and coordination with Yuma County Airport Authority/Yuma International Airport
You will supervise the receiving, reviewing and processing International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) DD-1801 flight plans.
You will Ensure Base Operations facilities are available and presentable for Distinguished Visitors (DVs).
You will ensure all flight clearance personnel are trained and understand how to properly utilize the systems.
You will ensure the appropriate scheduling of personnel (uniformed and civilian), for the required Flight Clearance Branch coverage during airfield operating hours and other times as required.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful compilation of the Air Force’s Airfield Management Apprentice Course (Level 3) within the first year of appointment and the Air Force’s Advance Airfield Management Course (Level 9) within the first three years of appointment.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the MCAS Yuma Flight Clearance Syllabus within the first six months of appointment.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Successful compilation of the MCAS Yuma Airfield Vehicle Operator’s Course (AVOC) within the first two months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, and processing flight plans; advising pilots on flight plans; developing policies and plans on airfield management, and regulating the operations and operating procedures applicable to the safety and efficiently of aircraft operations in and around an airfield.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
