You will serve as a FLIGHT CLEARANCE SPECIALIST in the AIRFIELD OPERATIONS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA. Initial consideration for this announcement is limited to the number of applications listed at the top of this announcement. Duties

You will act as an Operations Liaison with other Air Traffic control agencies and flight services to plan, coordinate, and integrate flight plans. You will receive and review military domestic and International Civil Aviation Organization flight plans. You will review flight plans for accuracy and completeness in compliance with Flight Information Publications, regulations, and other directives. You will assist with the coordination of a variety of functions in the Flight Clearance Section. You will coordinate Open Skies Treaty message handling procedures.

• You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You must be able to pass the Airfield Driver's Test.
• You must successfully complete the Air Force's Airfield Management Apprentice Course (Level 3) within the first year of appointment.
• You must successfully complete the Air Force's Advance Airfield Management Course (Level 9) within the first three years of appointment.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS=05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, coordinating, and integrating flight plans; assisting aircrews with their transportation requests; and transmitting, receiving, and coordinating pertinent information with a flight clearance section. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting aircrews with their transportation requests; and transmitting, receiving, and coordinating pertinent information with a flight clearance section. Education

In lieu of specialized experience/general experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent education, as follows:

GS-07: One full year of graduate level education; OR, a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement; OR, a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.

GS-05: Successfully completed a four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree; OR, a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
