You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Office of the General Counsel of OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL.

Duties

You will serve as the liaison to OGC commands worldwide and work closely with commands and HR offices in coordinating, processing and tracking of civilian personnel actions pertaining to attorneys. You will provide administrative support for all Office of the General Counsel (OGC) personnel hiring actions and personnel development programs, including selections for OGC's SES program and NON-SES Deputies. You will perform independent research on hiring policies, regulations, and law. You will provide a tracking mechanism for incoming tasks, maintain accurate suspense status, and ensure completed work is accurate in terms of content and priority. You will research and analyze Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements of various state bar associations and provide guidance to all Office of the General Counsel (OGC) office on administrative process for meeting these requirements. You will prepare reports detailing the estimated cost associate with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) accreditation for all OGC attorneys who are required to annually obtain (CLE) to maintain a bar license in order to practice law. You will provide administrative support, compiling and coordinating material for meetings and trainngs, including OGC Annual New Attorney Orientation Training, OGC Supervisory Training and OGC Annual Training Symposium. You will prepare correspondence for the signature of members of the Secretariat, the General Counsel, and member of the Deputy General Counsel.

Requirements

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting the hiring and onboarding of civilian personnel; Assisting with position management review and classification of position descriptions; Applying analytical techniques to extract information and make recommendations to leadership and external parties.
